How many times has a cashier asked you, “What’s your email address?” You don’t hear, “Would you like to be put on our mailing list?” because the answer to that is an easy and polite, “No, thank you.” It’s asked in a way that you’re so caught off guard you can’t even think to respond with something like, email@example.com.

Every once in a while, you may hear about the increased need for donations at your local blood center, but the truth is that it is an ongoing need and it’s something that you can contribute to all year round. I’ve been donating blood regularly since 1994 and it’s such an easy thing to do.
In a former agency, I had a creative director who would respond to every common office greeting like “How’s it going?” or “What are you up to?” with “Building brands. Just building brands, man.” He believed it, too. He believed passionately that every time he had the opportunity to create something that represented a brand, he wanted that piece of communication to build an image and reputation.
