Faces of Broadlawns Wins Bronze Telly Award


Strategic America has received a 2017 Bronze Telly at the 38th Annual Telly Awards for the “Faces of Broadlawns” spot produced for Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The Telly Awards are the premier awards honoring the best in TV and cable, digital and streaming and non-broadcast productions.

“Faces of Broadlawns” is the latest in a progressive series of spots intended to show how Broadlawns has grown to better serve the Des Moines community through the expansion of new convenient locations, new specialties and physicians and access to high quality healthcare for everyone.

“The SA team wanted to bring life to Broadlawn’s tagline, ‘Together a healthy community’. We wanted to deliver a message of inclusion and caring meant to resonate through the whole community,” said John Donovan, Copywriter at Strategic America.

This creative concept led to the visualization of the people who benefit from Broadlawn’s commitment to the health of the community as well as the people who deliver that commitment.

“We showed Broadlawns as it is today, a modern institution focused on delivering high quality healthcare to the community,” said Greg Welch, Associate Creative Director at SA.

People of various ages, medical professions and different walks of life are shown in renovated and new Broadlawns facilities in the heart of Des Moines, capturing convenience of service, friendly faces and quality care in the modern and constantly improving health center.

“It was important for us to capture the actual employees, staff and clients of the hospital. The spot portrays the moment, providing a glimpse of who they are and how they support the mission of Broadlawns. We had clips of individuals and other clips of people working together to show the genuine interaction and real-life contribution to the overall mission of Broadlawns,” Welch said.

“We’re thankful for the collaborative partnership we have with Broadlawns, which allows us to create award-winning work that drives their business goals,” said Katie Popp, Senior Account Manager at SA.

Video production was expertly handled by Luminary Creative, a Des Moines production company.
