Win-Winners

Your Strategic Americans are just wrapping up maximizing our lives on Habit 4 of Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Win-Win Cookies

Habit 4 is Win-Win.  Think “we”, not “me”. There were contests with fabulous prizes (ex. a Kohl’s gift card). There were W-W (Win-Win) cookies. We also had an agency wide job shadow program. We were matched up with a person in another department and learned what they do day to day, their biggest fears and various other fun and useful facts. After job shadowing was concluded we then signed our Declaration of Windependence! Thomas Jefferson would be SO PROUD. Look at all those beautiful signatures! Congrats to everyone on breaking their ties with losing!

Declaration of Windependence
The unanimous Declaration of the United Departments
of Strategic America

When in the course of Strategic American events it becomes necessary for people to dissolve all ties to losing and assume the powers of winning, it’s only fair we tell losing why we’re breaking up. In all honesty, losing should have seen this coming . . .

We were all born with certain inalienable rights, that among these are: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, winning and feeling the thrill of synergy. While all losses may not be created equal, we can all agree that losing is pretty terrible.  For this reason we have decided to cut all ties with losing. That includes win-lose, lose-win and lose-lose.

Together we will work towards making our collective emotional bank accounts too big to fail. Failing is another form of losing and that is not what we are about.  If a fellow Strategic American’s emotional bank account becomes overdrawn, we will not accept any bail-outs. It is our duty, as winners, to get them back in the black.

From this day forth we, the effective people, mutually pledge to begin with both the end and winning in mind. We will seek to understand and will be understood. Our saws shall never become dull.  Quadrants 3 and 4 will become a thing of the past. This is our proactive declaration of both effectiveness and awesomeness.

For the support of this Declaration, we pledge to each other our mutual respect, our commitment to seek mutual benefit and to create Win-Win Agreements every day.
