The Whose Cube? series features our Strategic Americans and the cubes that define them.
Strategic American: Heath Smith
How long have you been with SA? 8.5 years
What’s your job title? Creative Services Manager
What’s your sign? Virgo, like Beyoncé and 2 Chainz
When they make a movie of your life, which they will, which song would you insist on being included on the soundtrack? “Fantasy (Remix)” by Mariah Carey and Old Dirty Bastard. Also, could someone make sure they use “Mo Money Mo Problems” by Notorious B.I.G. on the outtakes for the DVD? Thanks.
Where did you grow up? Parkersburg
If you could have any super power which would you choose? The ability to always have $500,000 in my checking account.
What is your most prized cube item? It’s a tie: my autographed picture of Meteorologist Jerriann Ritter and the vase made by one of the inmates at the Anamosa State Penitentiary (because social rehabilitation through pottery is my favorite form of redemption).
What is one of your favorite SA moments? The time Kasey and I had a flat tire in the forbidden zone, aka the parking lot of our new building, two months before we moved in. We were warned to stay away! It was a total coincidence, I swear. We were about to abandon her car, but we were lucky and her brother showed up. He said, “I can get you in the building if you want,” which is the equivalent of saying “Beetlejuice” twice. I can’t believe I’m even talking about this. Don’t say a word to anyone!
Where would you like to go that you’ve never been before? I’ve never visited Atlanta. I drove through it once on a charter bus, but we didn’t stop. If it’s good enough for Jermaine Dupri, then it’s good enough for me. This video makes me wish I had never been to Waterloo so I could have used that as my answer. You show me someone who doesn’t want to go there after seeing that video and I’ll show you a huge liar.
What is your favorite current TV show? Breaking Bad. But I’m only half way through it so stop talking about it.
SA is home to MANY meeting rooms. Which meeting room is your favorite and why? I’ve narrowed it down to the ones where you can’t hear toilets flush, which leaves the Ideas Room or the Strategic Room. I think I’ll go with the Strategic Room because it’s not six feet from my cube.
Do you trust magicians? Under the right circumstances I would trust an illusionist, but definitely not a magician. They’re not as bad as clowns, but really, who is?
Chess or checkers? Checkers, but only because I don’t know how to play chess. And I think it’s a nice pattern for a tablecloth or socks.
Which commercial do you currently love and which is annoying you? This Oscar Mayer spot is surprisingly amusing for ham. I would also like to point out that I don’t care for those Wonderful Pistachio commercials. I’m not even going to include a link because gross.
