SA Volleyball Recap 2014 – Week One

It’s back! The volleyball recap that critics/my mother calls, “Oh, you’re doing this again?” and “Tell your brother to call me,” is back in your life for the next four months. It’s like a foreign exchange student who might be going through your stuff when you’re gone: annoying but you probably can’t deport someone over it. Grab your green card and tell the Border Patrol that we’re ‘bout to declare it ALL.

This Year’s Team:
Mike, Rob, Dave, Jessica, Joey, Courtney, Bianca, Michelle and Heath

Highlights:
• We won the volley and the right to serve first. That was it for the winning during the first game.
• We were up 9-1 when IT STARTED HAILING ON US. We apparently signed up for the “Delicate Ladies Volleyball League” because the other team took off to find shelter. Rest assured, they got their before their lace collars could be moistened.
• Before the hailing, Jessica was having the game of her life. It’s probably all downhill from here, but she was to sand volleyball what Maury Povich is to people who make bad choices for a solid 25 minutes last night. This is the highest praise available!

Takeaway Quote of the Week:
“Everyone always underestimates Paul’s abilities, which is exactly right.”
