SA Softball Recap – Game 11

Sliding!
Sliding!

Nothing to do now that Harry Potter is all wrapped up? Disappointed with Cowboys and Aliens? Ashamed to admit you paid money to see The Smurfs? I have the perfect solution for you! Come out and cheer on your Strategic Americans to victory. It’s too bad the game was last night and we lost. On the plus side, this recap is in 3D. That’s not true, but it will still cause nausea and, in some cases, night terrors. Tell the kids behind you to shut it – let’s recap!

Players in attendance!
Shelly, Lori, Kelly, Jessica, Maria, Jim, Heath, Antwon, Dane and Mike

Fans and Super-Fans!
Caleb, Jim’s sister, Lori’s daughter and Maria’s friend whose name I didn’t catch so I will call her Bettina.

Let’s Break This Down.
• We were hot at the plate last night. (I’m pretty sure) everyone got on base at one point during the evening. Dane hit a home run and Jessica scored her first points of the season too.
• Antwon helped his wife Maria catch a hit to the outfield. And by “helped,” I mean he probably should not have helped. And by “wife,” I mean the lady who wanted to punch him.
• I found out that I slide like an old lady falling on the ice. I ripped my girdle! Also, I was running all over the outfield last night, sweating like a Sunday school teacher at my first prison rodeo.
• Jim slid two times last night and has the wounds to show for it. Since Lori wasn’t willing to be SA’s Official Sweaty, Bloody Mess® two weeks in a row, someone had to step up. Good job, Jim.

Final Summary
Score: SA 8, Other Team 18
We lost the game, but we had a lot of fun. We did pretty great in the first couple innings and then had a mini-rally in the fifth inning that resulted in five runs scored. It is almost unheard of for a team to score that many points in one inning, unless they are playing us.

And finally, this week’s edition of Two Things I Overheard At The Game
“Do you know what I use my oven for? Warming my jeans in the morning and Cheeto storage. Go ahead and judge me in your cold jeans, I’ll wait.”
“I don’t drink hot liquids of any kind. That’s the devil’s temperature.”

Next week’s game is at 6:00pm.

Go team!
Heath
