Our phones rarely leave our hands these days. I’m constantly checking my iPhone for work, but let’s be honest—it is also there to keep me entertained and in touch with my family and friends. I’d like to highlight my favorite apps in use this month. Some are staples in my life and others are in testing mode.
- Dropbox – I don’t know what I would do without this cloud-based storage resource. Seriously. It allows me to work from anywhere and access all files that are needed. It is a great way to share and synch files, photos and music online and on the iPhone, iPad and multiple computers all in one save.
- Tempo – This is a smart calendar app that aggregates everything you might need for a meeting, including people, places and documents, all in one place. Ever go to join a conference call from your phone and find it very challenging to enter in the “audio pin” or “access code”? Not to worry. Tempo will show you the call-in information and it will also enter in the access code for your call when it is requested. Super smart, huh? Perhaps you are a person who meets with new clients and you like to have some insider information on attendees. Not to worry. Tempo has a new feature called People Insight (in beta) that allows quick access to social media and RSS feeds for those included on each meeting request.
- Audible – The book worm in me needs this app on my phone. I love to read but often times feel that time doesn’t allow for it. Audiobooks are a great way to learn new things or simply catch up on a novel while driving or getting ready. Of course it is different than curling up with a book by the fire but time is tight and I still need to learn. Want to know if it is right for you? Take a listen to a short book and see what you think. (Really. It’s only 1 hour and 4 minutes.)
