10 Years of Giving Back to United Way

Published On: October 23, 2013 | Categories: Culture |

We’re big into giving back to our community. Just recently, Strategic America reached its 10th year of 100% associate participation in the United Way of Central Iowa’s 2013 campaign. SA associates raised nearly $45,000 for the nonprofit organization, which improves the lives of individuals and families in Central Iowa with a focus on education, income and health.

While SA associates are serious about their commitment to United Way, there is a fun and very rewarding incentive for the company if we reach 100% participation. The good-natured SA leadership team agrees to perform an activity or stunt as a result of the company-wide support.

As a reward for reaching a decade of 100% participation, SA associates recently voted on their favorite past activity for SA’s leaders, such as sumo wrestling, dunk tank or karaoke.  The winning activity (with 22 votes) will have our execs donning mascot costumes and jogging around the bases at an Iowa Cubs game next season. They will be repeating the activity they did in 2012, when they rounded the bases while dressed as B-Bop’s burgers.

In honor of the tenth year, below are some highlights from past years. Way to go SA!

United Way Cubs Game

Dressed as B-Bop’s burgers, Nathan, Mike and John run the bases at a 2012 Iowa Cubs game.
